Campaigns send one message to many contacts at once, over WhatsApp, SMS or email. You can schedule them, send a test first and track delivery for each recipient.

Where: Campaigns (/app/broadcasts/campaigns)

What you need for each channel

Channel You need
WhatsApp A connected number and an approved template
SMS An SMS provider connected to your workspace
Email Your own SMTP server connected to your workspace

Creating a campaign

The campaign wizard takes you through five steps:

  1. Channel: WhatsApp, SMS or email.
  2. Audience: a segment, a tag, selected contacts, or an uploaded CSV. Click Audience preview to see exactly who will receive it.
  3. Message:
    • WhatsApp: pick an approved template and fill in its variables.
    • SMS: write the text.
    • Email: write the subject and body. The AI assistant can draft the body or suggest a better subject line.
  4. Schedule: send now, or pick a date and time.
  5. Review and launch.

Drafts and test sends

  • Save as draft to finish later.
  • Test send delivers the campaign to you first, so you can check how it looks on a real phone or inbox.

Managing campaigns

From the campaign list you can launch a draft, pause a scheduled or running campaign, edit a draft, delete a campaign, or open it to see results.

Delivery tracking

Omni tracks every recipient's status: queued, sent, delivered, read or failed. Campaign messages also appear in the inbox, so when someone replies, your team sees it as a normal conversation with the campaign message above it.

Detailed results are in Reports.

Sending safely

  • Opt-in only: campaigns skip contacts who haven't opted in.
  • Pacing: sends are spread out rather than fired all at once, which protects your number's quality rating and your provider limits.
  • WhatsApp quality rating: Meta tracks how recipients respond to your messages. Many blocks or reports lower your quality rating and can limit how many people you can message per day. Send relevant messages to people who expect them.

WhatsApp pricing note: Meta charges for template messages you send, separately from your Omni plan, and bills the payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account. Rates depend on the template category and the recipient's country. From 1 October 2026 Meta also charges for service messages (replies inside the 24-hour window) and for utility templates sent inside that window. See WhatsApp API pricing in 2026.

Plan limits

Campaigns, SMS and emails count against your plan's monthly allowances. When you reach a limit, you'll be asked to upgrade before sending more. See Billing and plans.

Next: automate replies and follow-ups with Automations.
